Celebrating Creativity, Innovation, and Collaboration at Indonesia Design Week 2025
Tangerang, September 2025 – Indonesia Design Week (IDW), the flagship event of Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK2, returns this year from 12 to 20 September 2025 for a nine day celebration of the diverse and dynamic world of design. This annual event embodies IDD’s broader vision to evolve beyond a commercial retail destination into a vibrant creative playground and collaborative ecosystem for designers, architects, and creative communities at large. At the core of the event is its guiding principle and long-term vision: ‘Crafting Connection, Inspiring Tomorrow’.
This year, IDW 2025 comes with the theme “Ideantity” — a term that represents both idea and identity, encouraging the design community to rediscover and amplify Indonesia’s unique character through design. More than just a theme, Ideantity reflects Indonesia’s growing role in the global design conversation — no longer merely a consumer, but an active contributor. It also reinforces IDW’s mission to define a distinct and confident Indonesian voice on the international stage. Just as cities like Milan, London, and Tokyo have built lasting legacies through their design weeks, IDW oXers a fresh perspective shaped by its regional context, cultural diversity, and openness to global dialogue.
A key highlight of IDW 2025 is a series of immersive design installations — the result of collaborations between leading global brands and Indonesian designers. Featured names include SMEG, Snaidero, KOHLER, BOSCH, MM Galleri, and more. These creative collaborations exemplify Indonesia’s evolving role as not just a design destination, but as an imaginative collaborator of global relevance.
Beyond brand-driven collaborations, IDW also provides a platform for local designers and creative collectives to present thought-provoking exhibitions that express identity, ignite dialogue, and push the boundaries of conventional design. These showcases spotlight the experimental and conceptual side of Indonesian creativity, reinforcing the country’s position as a hub of emerging design perspectives.
Moreover, IDW fosters meaningful collaborations within the design industry through a lineup of signature programs such as Millimeter Manifesto, which highlights the works of nine Indonesian product designers united by a shared belief in the subtle power of design, Industry Roundtables, and Design Dialogs hosted by Design Anthology. Together, these experiences invite visitors not only to learn about global design, but also to become part of a larger conversation shaping its future.
To further engage the next generation of designers, IDW will host guided insight tours open to design firms, creative communities, and university students. Additionally, a dedicated student exhibition will spotlight emerging talent by showcasing innovative projects thatreflect bold ideas, experimental approaches, and fresh perspectives on design and creativity.
Adding a playful twist to the festival, Firm OXice Grand Prix — the first-ever oXice chair racing competition will return to IDW 2025 for the second time. This light-hearted event blends creativity and fun, oXering a unique way to experience design in motion while fostering camaraderie among participants and spectators alike.
As part of its programming, IDW 2025 is also proud to support a meaningful cause. At the Sip & Tip event hosted by BIKA Living, designers and brand owners will step behind the bar to serve food and drinks — with all tips collected going directly to communities in need.
The co-satellite exhibition at ASHTA Mall also makes it easier for those outside the PIK area to engage with the event. To make it easy to visit both venues, IDW will oXer a complimentary daily shuttle service, ensuring that visitors can fully experience Indonesia Design Week 2025 at its main venue.
Supported by an esteemed organization like the Ministry of Creative Economy (EKRAF) and media partners such as Design Anthology, Dezeen, Indonesia Design, Archinesia, and MRA Group, Indonesia Design Week continues to demonstrate a strong collective commitment to raising Indonesia’s design standards and nurturing sustainable growth within the industry.
From immersive exhibitions to hands-on workshops and insightful conversations with industry leaders, IDW is all about making design accessible, engaging, and inspiring for a wider audience.
